For
Our Guests
Welcome!
Knowing that this website can
never give you the full picture of Spring Road Christian Church, we want
to give you a glimpse of the amazing things God is doing in our people,
our community, and our world. But even more than what God is doing
on the outside of us; He is shaping us from within and molding our hearts
to be more like Him. We pray that God will spark your interest by
what you see in our website so that you’ll want to learn more about us
and the God we serve.
Our purpose is to love people to Christ. We are a body of believers who know
that no single one of us is complete without the gift of salvation from
the One that makes us whole. We strive together to be more like the
Savior, Jesus Christ, and to light the way for others to come to know Him.
We want to
reach out to you.
We are so glad you’ve taken this first step in learning about our church
and invite you to come and visit with us in person.
How
do I get there?
We are thrilled that you are
interested in learning more about our church. Spring Road Christian Church
is more than a building that can be found at our address. We are a
body of believers who meet, worship, and grow together as we strive to live
in a manner that is pleasing to God. To assist you making your way to
our campus, driving directions are provided below from a variety of
locations in the Greater Valley Area of east-central Alabama and
west-central Georgia.

Where
do I park?
Spring Road Christian Church is
surrounded by easily accessible parking spaces. Entry to the lot can
be made from two entrances on North 18th Avenue and one entrance from Spring
Road. The portico at the east entry doors allows drivers to safely drop off passengers with protection from the weather
before parking. Once inside, you’ll see the
Visitor Welcome Center where someone will be waiting to assist you in
finding your way around.
Handicap Accessible Parking
There is abundant accessible
parking available in our east parking lot, with easy access through the
portico. Wheelchair accessible ramps are available on every side
of the building. An elevator is available to travel between

Families with Preschoolers and /

Many families with young children
park on the east side of the building and make use of the covered entry in
order to protect their children from the weather. This side of the
building is equipped with extended sidewalks to minimize the amount of time
young children are walking among the cars and in driving areas. There
is always someone available to assist you and your child to find the class
that’s right for them.

east and west sides of the building. Entrances from these parking
areas lead into the main hallways that take you anyplace in the church.
Parking for Fellowships and Youth
Events
Easy access to Heritage Hall
(Family Life Center) and classrooms can be found from either the east or
west parking lots.
Do I go to the first or second service?
At Spring Road, you have the
choice of attending Sunday School and then Morning Worship, or you can
do them in reverse and attend Morning Worship and then Sunday School.
Just come on in and we'll help point you in the right direction so you

Sunday School, same childcare.
Where
do I go?
Spring Road is a growing church
community and we are excited that you are considering visiting with us in
person. We would like to personally greet you and help you and your
family find your way on your first visit. There is a Visitor Welcome
Center at the east portico entrance that is staffed each Sunday morning to
assist newcomers as they seek to find a Sunday School class and morning
worship. We would love to help you find your place at Spring Road
Christian Church.

What
are worship services like?
Worship truly defines our
service. The dictionary defines “worship” as:
Wor•ship 1.
reverence or devotion for a deity; religious homage or veneration
2. extreme devotion or intense love or admiration of any kind.
Intense love and admiration! Extreme devotion! That’s how we describe
worship at Spring Road Christian Church. We gather together each
week to worship God as a family and to express to Him our
love, our thanks, and our devotion. Come be our guest as we worship the Lord
together!
Our worship services blend the comfort and familiarity of traditional
worship with the excitement of a contemporary worship service through both
music and word. The Worship Choir, Worship Teams, and
Worship Orchestra lead the music portion of our service. A variety
of worship singers, soloists, and small groups bring special selections as
offerings of praise to our Lord. Our pastor adds a motivational,
pertinent, and meaningful sermon while sometimes using scripts, slides, and
skits. Our members join this service through their attentive
participation and prayerful worship. Members of Spring Road Christian
Church also worship by giving, through prayer, and Bible study.
Sound Enhancement Devices
Assisted Listening Devices are
available during the Worship Service. For assistance, please visit the
Welcome Center at the entrance to Heritage Hall.
What
do I need to bring?
Many members and guests find that
it’s easier and more fulfilling to participate in Bible study when they
have their own copy of the Bible with them during worship so that they can
underline or highlight particular verses for later study. During worship key
Bible verses will be displayed on the overhead screens for those who do not
have a Bible with them and for those who carry a different translation.
If you prefer to take simple notes,
an outline of each Sunday morning’s Bible study is provided in the
bulletin with spaces and margins for personal thoughts and references. For
other Bible study times, you may prefer to bring a notepad and pen or pencil
for taking notes.
What
do I wear?
No matter what your personal
style, you’ll be comfortable at Spring Road Christian Church. If you
prefer dressy, business, or casual attire, chances are there will be
others dressed much like you no matter when you visit. Sure, Sunday
mornings are a time when many prefer to dress up a bit, but even if jeans
are more your style, you’ll be right at home with us. Naturally, Wednesday evenings are slightly more casual than Sunday morning, but
come in whatever you like.
Preschoolers and children learn while they play. We encourage hands on
play so that children are learning through all their senses. Use your own judgment
about how dressed up your child while at church.
Our Middle and High School students usually dress casually on Wednesday evenings because games and sporting events are often held
outside and sometimes involve getting messy.
Can
I meet the Pastor?
The Pastor would love to meet you! Our
Pastor, Gary Armes, is available in the foyer after worship every Sunday
morning to personally greet our guests and asks that you take a
moment to stop and say hello. If you would like a more in-depth
visit with the Pastor, please call the church office to set up a time
for a personal visit or phone call.
The church office is available
Monday - Thursday from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM and Fridays from 8:00 AM
to noon at 334-644-2611. For a full list of contacts, click

What
does the church believe?
-
That we have a Sovereign God who is the creator and sustainer of all
things.
-
That the Bible is the inspired Word of God.
-
In the absolute Deity of Jesus
Christ. He is the Only Begotten Son of Almighty God and the Only way to
God.
-
That Jesus was born of a virgin.
-
In the sinful nature of
mankind; we are all sinners, falling short of God’s Glory.
-
In the atoning sacrifice of
Jesus Christ on the cross for our sins.
-
That Jesus physically rose
from the tomb on the third day after being crucified and is alive and
seated today at the right hand of God’s throne.
-
That we are saved by faith in
Jesus Christ; a repentant spirit; a public profession of Jesus Christ;
obedience to Him in baptism and continually growing in our faith in Him.
-
That one day Jesus will return
to judge the world and take us home to heaven.
-
That the church is His body,
bride, and we are the priesthood of all believers.
