Drama Ministry

The purpose of Drama Ministry at SRCC is to provide a theatrical interpretation or humorous performance depicting one of life's experiences. Through drama, we are able to allow the Holy Spirit to convince, convict, encourage, witness, and uplift both the audience and the participants. Drama Ministry reveals the love, grace, power, and purpose of God in a most compelling and creatively vivid way. It visually conveys godly principles with unusual clarity that touches the heart of adults and children alike.

"The Wedding Vows"

In our 'marriage sermon series,' we presented the humorous skit "The Wedding Vows." The church was decorated for a perfect wedding. The candles were lit and the flowers were in place. The groom and preacher awaited the beautiful bride as she walked down the aisle ... and it was all a skit. Tony Peregoy played the preacher while Bobby and Kim Edmondson played the groom and bride. The wedding couple just could not decide fully on the vows so the preacher kept changing them. In the end, we were all reminded that in life, we cannot always get what we want. Life is filled with diversity and challenges and we must we strong in our resolve, temperate in our desires, disciplined in our endeavors, and committed in our faith. View photos.

"Signing The Papers"

Divorce is the unfortunate and often hurtful ending to a marriage. In "Signing The Papers," Tony Peregoy and Susan Oswalt play the roles of Matt and Christa. While meeting at the lawyer's office to sign the divorce papers, the pain that both have felt bubbles over as harsh words and intense emotions are laid open before everyone. This heartbreaking mini-drama captures the pain and difficulty couples face when they think divorce is the only answer. Running the full gambit of problems many couples face and allowing couples to "connect" with Matt and Christa, we all learn just how fragile marriages can be. As the 'marriage sermon series' continues, the audience is reminded that all marriages have struggles at times, but faith in God will be a strong anchor in our lives.
