Children's Programs
Because kids are important and they matter to
God, our children's ministry exists to love lids to Jesus Christ by helping
them hear the good news, experience life in the body of Christ, advance in
their spiritual growth, reach out to others, and tune their hearts to
worship God. Our mission is to supplement the family in their attempt
to lay down a spiritual foundation that, in God's timing, will lead a child
into a relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
Sunday School
Sunday School is provided at 9:15 AM each Sunday
morning. The Children's Department provides classes for birth to fifth
grade. We have trained volunteer teachers who present God's Word in an
interesting and practical way.
Wee Worship
During the 10:30 AM worship service, all children from birth
to K5 are given quality childcare in their same Sunday School classrooms.
The 2-5 year olds have Wee Worship Hour which includes
singing, lesson, and activity all surrounding the Sunday School Bible
Story and theme for that day. Recreation is also provided for
the children to enjoy time playing on the playground, weather
permitting. A snack is provided to the children in between
Sunday School and Wee Worship.
Kingdom Kids
We at SRCC feel it is important for children to have
practical teaching and worship in their own level. That is why we
provide Kingdom Kids, a junior church program, each Sunday morning during
our 10:30 AM worship service. Children in the first through fifth
grades meet in the Kingdom Kid Room (205/207). The children experience
singing, offering, communion (for those who have been baptized), lesson, and
activity. All lessons are planned so that the children will understand
something of the Christian life that will help them become the person God
desires them to be.
We also realize is is important for children to experience
an adult worship service and learn how to act appropriately during this
time. Therefore, once a month, we have Family Sundays during the 10:30
AM worship service where there is no Kingdom Kids offered so that children
can sit with their parents in Heritage Hall.
